Pirates & Mermaids...

Birthday Season: This year we decide to combine Layla and Wyatt's birthday.  I think we found a theme that was appealing to both of them! We settled on Pirates and Mermaids, I knew the pirate side would be pretty simple but the Mermaid needed a bit more attention as things weren't as easy to come by! Here's a few photos of the Birthday Bash.. Argh!

Mermaid Or Pirate Which You Be?

Beautiful Mermaids

Wyatt Our Very Striped Pirate!

Some of the Fabulous Cookies Kim's Creation's Made... Can we say YUM!

I put together a simple sail using a tin bucket some cheese cloth and a scrap piece of floor moulding (I knew just the place to find that...tee hee hee)  I cut a hole in the top of the cheese cloth and draped it over the floor moulding, using some braided twine I tied a lose knot... very pirate ship don't you think?

Perfectly Pirate!

My Mom Helped me create these Cute Sequin Tales for all the mermaid's, it was a no sew project (AMEN), I added tulle to Zuzh it up and bit, to hide the hot glue spot I cut sequin circles it made a great extra flare to the girls very fancy dress up skirt wraps... I hung all the skirts on some twine using wooden close pins!

I also made a mermaid head pieces to help complete the look!

More Fabulous Cookies!

Alice & Wonderland...

My Daughters school hosts a tea and fashion show fundraiser every year, with the graduating preschoolers modeling in the fashion show. This was my second year hosting a table, I went with an Alice in Wonderland theme... Here's what I started with....

I used simple masking tape to adhere the cards to the walls of the square glass vase...

I found THREE different styles of tea tableware... Got the good ol spray paint out and went to town..

 Finished Product....

Here's the Vase all Lined with Cards...On top of a cake pedestal..  ( I LOVE me a Pedestal)

I painted a cup a saucer, with simple crafters paint.. My hubby glued a single piece of Styrofoam to the bottom and hot glued a wooden dowel to the bottom...
With a quick trip to the floral section in my local supermarket.. I filled the vase and painted cup with very bright colored flowers.. (LOVE)

Here's one photo of the almost finished product...
Of course I added my favorite cookies to the table... Yummy! Kim's Cookie Kreations YOU ROCK!
Here's our Model all Ready to Go...

Back To School Anyone?

I hosted a small lunch for my daughter Layla after she graduated from Sacred Heart Preschool this past June. I know Graduation Parties are over for now but I wanted to share a few of my ideas. They Could easily be used for a back to school party with some long lost classmates or a first day treat for a special teacher!
All Supplies from the dollar store... Pretty Simple!
Wrap the pencils around the container and fill with fresh flowers...
Depending on the height of the container you may have to cut the pencils down, this was a bit messy and would advise to do it out side or to cover your table before you start trimming away!

Here is a pic of our PRECIOUS Grad!
