Follow Up - On Mack's Project

Here's the update on Mack's Project it's really coming together! The Room has been painted!
All the trim was re- painted white to give it a nice new fresh look!
We planned on updating the lighting fixture to something more Girlie- There was a ceiling fan up! I made sure she could live without the fan, and then began creating this chandelier.

I always search the web for ideas, it's your best resource for finding, budgeting and of course duplicating. I love the Medallion! We hung the Chandelier a bit higher then usual,(Mack has a tall Daddy) so the medallion really made it stand out!

I was so mad after I took this pic, thought I had a good one then noticed that the bows needed adjusting, So I'll take another one after we replace a few bulbs as well!
This is my Second Chandelier Project I Just Love it!

Goodie - Goodie - Goodie

I found these cute bags at Wal-Mart a few weeks back, there are 15 in a set and were about 3 dollars! They came with those bendy tie things, they remind me of the grocery store!
I had some green ribbon from my Christmas stash! Did just the Trick!
Lil Pumpkins

Hope I made enough! Enjoy!

Halloween Baking...

I really want to get better at baking, cookies, cupcakes all the sweet fancy things in life!!! I've been following a few other blogs that have so many great ideas! When it comes to cookie decorating there amazing. I hope to improve on my techniques.

I haven't found a sugar cookie recipe I love so right now my secret weapon is the Betty Crocker Mix in a bag, although I follow different directions. On some packages it is shown as the Cut Out Cookie Recipe others it's not there at all.

*It's basically 1/3 Cup Butter Instead of the whole Stick and a tablespoon of Flour. Even though it's not shown in the directions I find it a must to put the dough in the fridge for a few minutes before rolling out. Seems to not be as sticky! Also I find by already having the bulk of ingredients on hand and ready to go it means you have more time to decorate!

The ABSOLUTE best part of baking is having Layla Girl Help!!! She Loves It!

Here's the Process - Bake - Frost with Plain White Royal Icing - Then Use the Frosting Tubes Below

Get Creative Start by drawing simple circle's then use a tooth pick to connect the lines together!

Really an easy method with great results!

ENJOY!

New Project

Mack's Project - Phase One
I was recently asked by a friend to help in her daughters room! I of course said yes, this is my first non-family job(paying)! Yippee! My wheels automatically started turning and I began processing ideas in my design book better known as my head. I shared a few, and was given the go ahead.

Here is some things that I started with, most of which will be painted.

The Client had already purchased bedding from BomBay Kids Gi-Gi Pattern so it made it an easy place for me to start!

Here's some Original Pictures Taken on My first day visiting the room!
Lil Wyatt Was there To help!

I'll continue to share my progress on this project we picked a great paint color! Check back and please share what you think!

The Last of the Spooky-ness

I Love My Haunted Houses, I've been given them over the years. Although they are quite a pain to store, they sure look very cute all displayed! This is on top of my entertainment center! I put all different colors of twinkle lights in the houses to make a really neat effect. I found my large web at Beverley's Last year I think it's the perfect place for it!
You can really fill every corner with sweet treats that remind you of Halloween!
I'm working on my collection of glass jars, I love when I can find new ways to use them!

Enjoy the Season!

Spooky Mantle

Here's My Spooky Mantle I hope to add to It next year with some fun wall decals! I really like the Martha Stewart ones, but I think I'll wait tell they go on sale and add them to my collection for next year!!!

Every Year I wish I have a bigger mantle. Trav is working on it let me tell you. I'm just not feeling like tearing into the house when a new baby's on the way! We shall See!

Here I took Old Shutters (painted Black of course), used Big Thick Orange Ribbon to secure my wicker wreath which is usually outdoors, found some Christmas lights to back light the shutters as well as jars. I found these Jars assorted in different sizes forever ago, they really have a ton of different uses! I filled these with water, food die and anything creepy I could get my hands on!

Trav and I found this Glitter Skull head Last year at Pottery Barn we just had to have it:)

Here's a Close up of the Wreath, I'm thinking of using this idea through out the holidays. Very simple to change the ribbon and give it a totally new feel!

I absolutely Love Halloween, I'm a October B-Day so it makes it that much better!!!

Spooky - Spooky

Here's My Spooky Spooky ( as Layla Calls It) Table Scape. I Love this Witch she usually sits on my counter but this year I found I new home for her on my much longer dining table. I found branches out at my dad's orchard and arranged them in two small glass vases filled with moss. I took Spider webs and covered the branches, I then attached spiders to the webs! I found Big chunky candle sticks at a decor store a few weeks back, I'm so excited to finally put them to use!
I filled every candle on the table with a flicker light so it looks very Spooky in the Evening!

If you Ever need a cheap alternative to a table cloth tulle always does the trick and at less then 2.00 dollars a yard you can't beat the price!
Tip: When storing your Tulle it always seems to get wrinkled, best way to re- fluff is to throw in the dryer for a minute or so on a medium to low temp gets it back to new in no time!

I went on a hunt for Black bond old books at the thrift store to give my Candle Sticks some height!

I gathered an assortment of candlesticks, all purchased at second hand stores.

They look very spooky backed by my HUGE spider web purchased at Pottery Barn a few Years Back!
Happy Haunting

Wyatt's 1st Trip To Disneyland!

Wyatt was such a crack up, he really was at such a good age for Disneyland! Although he had to be carried most of the time or ride in a stroller he still got such fulfillment from seeing all the lights and characters. Wyatt loved the Jungle Cruise!!!

We died laughing, when we all saw how excited he got over seeing the ducks. Even before getting on the ride he was Over Joyed!

He Started Clapping at the sight of the Boats and Ducks!!! It was so Precious!!!

Seeing Mikey was such a treat he couldn't get over he's big black nose!

I have a Few more good ones I'd like to share!

It's one of the greatest experiences seeing Disneyland through the eyes of a First Timer!!
